Database Billing

This page explains how database billing works on Hostless.

Pricing Tiers

FREE Tier

Every account includes one free database with:

CPU0.1 vCPU
Memory512 MB
Storage256 MB

FREE tier limitations:

  • Only 1 database per account
  • Resources cannot be scaled
  • Fixed resource allocation

UNLEASHED Tier

Unleashed databases are billed based on resource usage:

Viewing Database Costs

To view your database costs:

  1. Navigate to AccountCost Breakdown
  2. Select the Databases tab
  3. Choose a billing cycle date range
  4. View cost breakdown by database

The cost breakdown shows:

  • Individual database costs
  • Resource usage details (CPU, memory, storage)
  • Billable units and prices
  • Total cost per database

Upgrading to Unleashed

To upgrade a FREE tier database to Unleashed:

  1. Go to your database detail page
  2. In the Scale Settings section, click Upgrade to Unleashed
  3. Confirm the upgrade

After upgrading:

  • You can create additional databases
  • Resource scaling becomes available
  • Billing begins based on usage

Billing Cycle

  • Database usage is tracked hourly
  • Charges are calculated based on allocated resources, not actual usage
  • Bills are generated at the end of each billing period
  • View your billing history in AccountBilling History

Reducing Costs

Tips to minimize database costs:

  1. Right-size resources - Don't over-provision CPU and memory
  2. Delete unused databases - Remove databases you no longer need
  3. Use FREE tier for development - Test with free databases before scaling
  4. Monitor usage - Check Cost Breakdown regularly to identify optimization opportunities
